Speed limit discs indicate the maximum speed allowed depending on the type of vehicle and the road. Article 142 of the highway code obliges road hauliers to apply two signage discs to the rear of their vehicle; the obligation applies to all goods transport vehicles excluding military vehicles when they are supplied to the armed forces.= "More-47">
The first signal must be placed in the rear left of the vehicle and represents the maximum limit allowed in the extra-urban roads while the second, positioned in the rear right of the vehicle, represents the maximum limit allowed for that vehicle on the motorway.
In the case of vehicle complexes, the signals will be applied to the rear of the trailer.
