UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a polyethylene with extremely long molecular chains, which make it light and, at the same time, highly resistant to cutting and abrasion. It belongs to the same family of fibres as Dyneema: weight for weight, they are among the strongest fibres there are, stronger than aramid (Kevlar) and far stronger than steel. That is why they are used for bulletproof and cut-resistant clothing, sails and ropes. The material is sensitive to light: when you are not using it, store it away from direct sunlight.
Cut-resistant polyethylene fiber allows you to go further. It is used in a wide range of garments, accessories, and devices to make them safer and resistant to cuts. It is lightweight, durable, and incredibly strong. Best known for its use in ballistics and in cut-resistant vests as bulletproof.
It is also used on ski slopes, in winding mountain trails, treacherous desert terrain, and even in space.
Thanks to its plain weave and drapability, it is very easy to work with, as well as easily adaptable to curved or spherical shapes.
We recommend impregnating fiber fabrics with epoxy matrix resins (all our fabrics are compatible with the epoxies available in our stores) to achieve the maximum aesthetic and structural performance.
All fabrics will be shipped rolled on tubes.
