What it is for

The sticker shows pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists the areas around the vehicle that the driver cannot see from the cab: the blind spots. This way they know not to stop next to the truck or bus, especially when it turns right.

Mandatory in France since 2021

In France, since 1 January 2021, vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (trucks, buses and coaches, and motorhomes above this weight) must carry blind spot stickers, even if they are registered in another country (article R.313-32-1 of the French Highway Code). Without them the fine is €135. Vehicles that already carry an equivalent sign required by another EU member state are also compliant.

And in Italy?

There is no national requirement in Italy. In Milan, however, trucks and buses of categories N2, N3, M2 and M3 must carry stickers signalling the blind spot on the sides and rear to enter Area B: the rule has applied since 1 October 2023 and was upheld by Italy's Council of State in 2024. The city's guidelines give the same positions as the French model.

Where they go

A vehicle needs 3: one on each side, within the first metre from the front of the vehicle, and one at the rear, on the right. They must all be between 0.90 and 1.50 m from the ground, clearly visible, without covering number plates, lights, reflectors or mandatory markings. Truck or bus model, PVC or aluminium

The design differs between trucks and buses: choose the one for your vehicle in the menu. The size is 250x170 mm. The adhesive PVC comes in packs of 4 (three for the vehicle and one spare), 12 (4 vehicles) and 30 (10 vehicles), handy for fleets. The aluminium version is a rigid panel, sold individually.
