CE labels 57x40 mm for CE marking
What they are for
Labels carrying the CE mark, to be applied to products that must bear it: machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, tools and equipment, protective devices and all other products for which a European regulation requires CE marking.
When the product is too small or its nature does not allow it, the mark goes on the packaging and on the accompanying documents: a self-adhesive label is the easiest way there too.
Before you apply them: who may affix the CE mark
The CE mark may only be affixed by the manufacturer or its authorised representative, after checking that the product meets the European rules that apply to it and drawing up the EU declaration of conformity. By affixing it, the manufacturer takes responsibility for conformity (Article 30 of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008).
The label is only the carrier of the mark: on its own it certifies nothing and does not make a product compliant. The mark may only be placed on products for which a European regulation provides for it; on all other products it is prohibited.
CE marking rules
- Shape: the initials “CE” in the proportions of the official drawing (Annex II of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008). If the mark is enlarged or reduced, the proportions stay the same.
- Height: at least 5 mm, unless specific rules say otherwise. On our labels the logo is about 26 mm high.
- Visible, legible and indelible, affixed before the product is placed on the market. The manufacturer chooses the carrier suitable for the product.
- Notified body: where the rules require it, its identification number goes next to the mark.
- Machinery: besides the mark, a nameplate is needed with the manufacturer’s name and address, model, series or type, serial number and year of construction. From 14 January 2027, under Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, also the manufacturer’s website or e-mail address. This label carries only the CE mark.
How to apply
- Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol or a degreaser and let it dry completely.
- Work at room temperature, not on cold, damp or greasy surfaces.
- Peel the label off the sheet without touching the adhesive with your fingers.
- Lay it down starting from one side and smooth it towards the other, so that no air bubbles remain.
- Press firmly over the whole label, especially on the edges and corners.
- Avoid wetting or rubbing it for the first few hours: the adhesive reaches full bond over time.

Frequently asked questions
Does the label make my product CE compliant? No. The CE mark is affixed by the manufacturer after checking the product’s conformity and drawing up the EU declaration of conformity. The label is only the carrier of the mark.
How big must the CE mark be? At least 5 mm high, unless specific rules say otherwise, always in the proportions of the official drawing. The logo on these labels is about 26 mm high.
Can I use it on a machine? Yes, for the CE mark. The machine also needs a nameplate with the manufacturer’s and the machine’s data; from 14 January 2027 also the manufacturer’s website or e-mail address.
Can it be used outdoors? It is designed for indoor or sheltered use. For outdoor use, strong heat, oils or solvents, ask us first: in those cases an aluminium or polyester plate is a better choice.
Which surfaces does it stick to? Smooth, clean and dry surfaces: metal, rigid plastic, glass, painted wood, cardboard. On rough, porous, greasy or silicone surfaces the adhesive grips less.
Can it be removed? The adhesive is permanent: the label is made to stay and may tear if you peel it off.
