3M™ Helicopter Tape forms a transparent protective layer over areas exposed to wear. It helps reduce surface scratches, rubbing damage and marks from small stones while keeping the original colour visible. The film is 220 microns (0.22 mm) thick.

Choose your size: width × length

• 25 mm (2.5 cm) × 2 m
• 50 mm (5 cm) × 2 m
• 100 mm (10 cm) × 1 m
• 200 mm (20 cm) × 1 m
• 600 mm (60 cm) × 1 m

Select the size that suits the area you want to protect. Cut and trim the film to fit: narrower widths suit small, targeted areas, while wider formats cover larger surfaces. Multiple units of the same size are supplied as one continuous length. For example, 2 units of 25 mm × 2 m give you a 25 mm × 4 m piece. The photos show the product and example applications; this is not a kit containing every size.

Typical applications

Suitable for compatible areas of car and motorcycle bodywork and bicycle frame contact points exposed to cable rub or abrasion. The flexible film follows the surface shape within the limits of the material. The product specification states water and UV resistance for outdoor use.

Preparation and fitting

1. Check compatibility and adhesion on a small, inconspicuous area first, especially on repainted, delicate or damaged surfaces.
2. Clean the area and allow it to dry completely.
3. Measure and cut the film before fitting. Do not cut directly on the paintwork.
4. Peel away the release liner and apply gradually, avoiding creases and checking that the edges adhere properly.
