This 25-piece tubeless tyre repair kit lets you fix a puncture yourself on a car, motorbike, scooter, van or motorhome, without removing the wheel. It is designed above all for cars without a spare wheel: with a plug strip and rubber cement you seal the hole left by a nail or a screw and you can drive on.

What is in the kit

The zip case holds 15 rubber repair strips, 5 screw-in rubber plugs for smaller holes, 2 tubes of rubber cement (6 g each), the spiral reamer and the insertion needle. The tools have a T-handle, so you can push with the palm of your hand.

How to use it

Find the hole and remove the nail or screw. Run the reamer through the hole to clean and prepare it. Thread a strip through the eye of the needle up to half its length, coat it with cement and push it into the hole for about two thirds. Pull the needle out firmly: the strip stays inside and seals the hole. Cut off the part that sticks out flush with the tread and inflate the tyre to the pressure recommended for your vehicle. For smaller holes you can use one of the screw-in plugs instead.

Does it take strength?

A little: you need to push firmly to get the strip in. The T-handle helps you do it without effort, and the reamer prepares the hole so the strip goes in more easily.

Does it damage the tyre or the rim?

No. The strip fills the hole and leaves no liquid inside the tyre: the rim stays clean and the pressure sensors do not get dirty, as can happen with puncture repair foam.

When not to use it

The kit is for tubeless tyres, i.e. without an inner tube, and for holes in the tread. Do not use it on the sidewall or shoulder of the tyre, on long cuts or on tyres with an inner tube. It is an emergency repair: have the tyre checked by a tyre specialist as soon as possible.

Where to keep it

The case is compact and fits in the boot, the glove box, the top case or under the motorbike seat. With 15 strips and 5 plugs you have enough for more than one puncture.
